MacRobertson Shield

The MacRobertson Shield is the top tier of the World Croquet Federation's World Team Championship. Australia, England, New Zealand, and the United States of America, compete for this coveted trophy.

The World Team Championship is the Olympics of Association Croquet. It is played every three or four years in one of the competing countries.

In 2017, the MacRobertson Shield will be played at the Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California, USA.

Competition is fierce with Australia this week defeating England in the first test by 11 matches to 7. This is the first time since 1935 that Australia has taken a test from England. Australia will now face off against New Zealand and the USA over the next two weeks.

While the team does not have any NSW players this time, it is being supported by the able management of our own Peter Landrebe, and has a mascot which appears to be related to one of the classic lunches at the Concordia Club at the Tempe Croquet Centre.
